Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What am I allowed to make for this? Is there anything I’m not allowed to make?
A: Fanfic, fan art, pod fics, edits, lyrics, poetry, cosplay photos... honestly, go wild! Just make sure that what you post is new. You cannot, for example, belatedly decide that a fic you posted in 2018 is a prompt fill.
Q: Is there any kind of content that’s not allowed?
A: Nope! Just make sure that you tag and/or warn appropriately, if needed.
Q: Am I supposed to interpret the prompts literally?
A: The prompts are meant to inspire, not restrict. For example, if the prompt is “stormy”, it could be about stormy weather, a stormy relationship, or just someone calling Stormfront “Stormy” in passing. Use them however you feel is right for you!
Q: If I write a fic, how long does it have to be?
A: At least the length of a drabble (100 words), but beyond that, it’s up to you!
Q: If I write a multi-chapter fic, can different chapters be fills for different prompts?
A: Absolutely!
Q: Where/how do I post my finished works?
A: You can post them wherever you want, honestly (personally we recommend AO3 when it comes to fics), but you’ll need to at least post a link to them on Twitter so we can find and retweet them! And make sure to tag @BoysFanEvents so we don’t miss them! If we haven’t retweeted your works in 24 hours, tag us again or DM us, because then we’ve missed it. There will also be event-specific hashtags for you to use.
Q: I didn’t finish the prompt in time...
A: That’s okay! You’re more than welcome to post it anyway, and we’ll still retweet it!
Q: I have ideas/suggestions for a prompt/theme/event!
A: Please DM us on Twitter! We’d love to hear it!
